“Camp Create and Play”
Virtual Summer Art Camp for Grown-ups with Joanne Sharpe
July 10 & 12, 2021 
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST

This is a requested event!  Every grown up needs the opportunity to attend summer camp!  Your host, head counselor artist Joanne Sharpe was a summer camp art director for several years “back in the day”.  She knows how to show you creative fun in the lazy days of summer.  Take a deep pause to gather with your virtual cabin mates on Zoom from the Monastery Gallery of Art in West Hartford, CT.  Pack up your “art trunk” and meet us on the screen!   

  • THEME ART Experience FIVE delightful, whimsical projects with a summer camp flavor with watercolor and acrylic painting, clay sculptures and “camp crafts”.
  • SUPPLY KIT Additional project materials will be mailed to each “camper” for use that will supplement the supply list.    
  • CAMP SWAG In the spirit of authenticity, a fun little package of playful surprises will be mailed to each “camper” before the event.
  • TWO SESSIONS with a day in between to let the projects cure and dry.
  • LIVE ZOOM CAMP!  Enjoy interaction, laughs and friendship with new and old art friends.  Our live events are always a memorable adventure.  Space will be limited to a smaller group and will fill up quickly. 

Supply List
These are basic materials needed for the camp projects:
  • 9”x12” canvas
  • Acrylic paints- Use what you already have, or craft store brands are just fine.
  • Watercolor paints- Your usual color palette.
  • Brushes for acrylic and watercolor.
  • Paper clay, 16oz.-suggested brand “Creative Paperclay”, at craft stores or Amazon
  • Gel Medium- gloss or matte.  For these projects GEL will work better than the liquid.
  • Posca Acrylic Paint Pens
  • Watercolor paper- (4) pieces that are 4.5”x6”
  • Fabric and fiber scraps (there will be NO sewing!)

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
This program is being hosted by The Monastery Gallery of Art with online registration provided by Holy Family Retreat & Conference Center. 
This program is being offered online via the Zoom platform. You will be sent an email in advance of the retreat that will contain link to signup for your personal link to our Zoom gathering. This is an extra security measure we take for our online programs.
