Colorful Silence: Quilt Squares
Saturday, March 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
with Br. Mickey McGrath
Join artist and author Br. Mickey McGrath for this color-filled and creative day of retreat. Using his own artwork and stories, Br. Mickey will guide us through various approaches to quilt-making across times and cultures highlighting African American and Native American traditions. Designing a quilt square can help us reveal and express our own stories, heal our pains, and celebrate our joys. Ample time will be given for the creation of a quilt square on paper using simple materials at home.
This program will be offered online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. All participants will need a pencil, crayons, a ruler, and typing or drawing paper. That is all that is necessary to participate. Some people had markers, paint, and scraps of cloth and glue, but none of those things are required to create a beautiful quilt square. Offering: $75 |
