Ukrainian Easter Egg Decorating has been handed down through generations of the Ukrainian people. They are famous the world over for their colorful Easter Eggs (Pysanky). Make your own colorful Easter eggs with an expert teacher.
Fr. Paul Luniw is an internationally recognized master of the Ukrainian decorative art tradition called pysanky. He was raised in England, in a Ukrainian immigrant community, learning the art as a young boy from his mother. Since then, he has continued to master the process of intricately decorating ostrich, duck, hen, and quail eggs. Offering: $40, includes all supplies *Lunch will not be offered, but snacks will be available during this program as we will work continuously on our project during our time together. |

ABOUT FR. PAUL LUNIW
Father Paul made his very first television appearance in the seventies, on a British television program called Blue Peter. Since then, he has been interviewed on numerous occasions for global and domestic media. He continues to share his artistry with many people from around the world, and in 2019 he was able to present a decorated ostrich egg to Pope Francis and explain the process to him. Father Paul is an expert in Canon Law, and currently serves as the parish priest at St Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Terryville, CT. |
History of our spaceThe Monastery Gallery of Art is located on the historic grounds of Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center. The MGA occupies a space on the B floor adjacent to the Public Chapel and that was once used as a dining room by the Passionist Community. |
