Vibrant Pastels

Virtual Class with Karen Israel

Learn to paint a pastel image with award-winning artist and educator Karen Israel.  Beginning with a short demo, Karen will teach how to layer color and create a vibrant painting with expressive mark making with this medium. Class size is limited to 20 online participants. No experience necessary. 

Materials: A supply list of materials to have for the class will be provided in advance. The materials will total no more than $10.

​ABOUT KAREN ISRAEL
Karen Israel’s work is featured in Pratique Des Arts Volume #153 Sept 2020 and Volume #47.  Her five pastels are honored with inclusion in an exhibition at Pastels of the World in Bourbonnais, France in May 2021. 

Artist Statement: “The success I have achieved as an artist is a constant reminder of the debt I owe to my teachers. My understanding of the creative process has continued to deepen with each painting I create. Currently, I am working with pastels because of their vibrancy and immediacy. They enable me to convey the transition of the fleeting quality of beauty. My overarching goal is to create environments that stem from my unique vision.”
